She was predeceased by: her son Kenneth E. Caffrey Jr.. She is survived by: her close friend John Milo; her children, Thomas (Andrea) and Anne Marie (Matthew); and her sisters, Barbara (Joseph Cilenti) and Patricia Labriola. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joan's name may be given to the Alzheimers Association.
