With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Russo of Sayville, New York, born in Greenpoint, New York, who passed away on December 3, 2022 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward; and her siblings, Eileen and Edward. She is survived by: her children, Jeannemarie Palermo (Mike), James, Edward, Janet Hetzel (Kevin), Michael (Felicia) and Suzanne Rossi (John); her grandchildren, Kevin, Christine, Joseph, Michael, Lauren, Maria, Michelle, John, Lisa, Dana, Antonin, Daniel, Jessica, Antonella and Anthony; her great grandchildren, Gianna, Giovanni, Noah, Sula, Kaylee, Autumn, Ziva, Joshua, Neva, Lyra, Michael, Melody and Lily; and her sister-in-law Barbara Conerty. She is also survived by friends and family.
Janet was an active member of The Third Order Secular, a lay fraternity that tries to emulate St. Francis's spirit by performing works of teaching, charity, and social service for over 50 years.
