With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Almeda Mapes Schreiber of Savona, New York, born in Corning, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 4, 2024 at the age of 67. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Mapes and Betty Gee; and her sister Carrie J. Mapes OBourn. She is survived by: her husband Samuel Schreiber Jr.; her children, Debbie Axtell and Larry Axtell (Wendy); her siblings, Harry Mapes of Corning, Gary Mapes (Joyce) of Corning and Delores Andrews (Jack) of Spencer; and her grandchildren, Courtney Axtell, Larry Jr. Axtell, Matthew Axtell and Austin Axtell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
