She was predeceased by: her parents, Heinrich Kriese and Ida Kriese (Schachtschneider). She is survived by: her husband Charles Griggs of Buckland's Bar; her children, Michelle Griggs Patterson and Michael Griggs (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Matthew, Eva, Rembrandt, Mea and Norah; and her siblings, Erika Repetski (James) and Ernie Kriese. She is also survived by canine companion "Teddy"; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a scholarship fund set up in Hildegards' honor to be given to a Senior Graduate student at NRWCSD for their excellence in science.
