It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Foley of Saugerties, New York, born in Kingston, New York, who passed away on March 14, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Elsie Jordan Thornton and William D. Thornton; her brothers, William (Bud) of Ohio and David (Scout) of Saugerties; her nephew Michael Thornton (Jennie) of Ohio; and her close friend Thomas Voyer of Marblehead.

She is survived by: her brother Lawrence (Leeanne) of Saugerties; her sisters-in-law, Nadine of Ohio and Sherian of Saugerties; her nieces and nephews, William Thornton (Tracy) of Ohio, Christine Thornton-Mance (Jeff) of Red Hook, Sarah Thornton of Boston, Kate Thornton-Columbia (Erik) of Syracuse, Andria Thornton of Florida and Jennie Hankel Thornton of Ohio; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Veronica, Gabrilla Thornton, Payton, Jabob Mance, Elisabeth and Kendell Columbia; and her cousins, Arthur Jordan, Jade, Gail, Janet, Steve, Linda, Tom, June, Andy and Pat Thornton.

Face masks and social distancing rules to be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Joan E Foley can be mailed to the Saugerties Girls Community Club c/o Thornton at 396 Main Street, Saugerties.
