He is survived by: his friend Mike Harkavy; his wife Mary Lou; his children, Carolyn (Gary) of Boulder, CO, Tom Hales (Vicky) of Denver, CO, Seth Hales of Cheshire, CT and Jenny Sherman (Peter) of Charleston, SC; and his brother Walter Hales of Toledo, OH. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
