Whittaker, Jr. of Saugerties and David (Heidi Whittaker) of Saugerties; his nephews, Jared Whiteford (Heather), Sean Whiteford (Juda), Ryan, Justin (Aideen) and Jaden Whittaker; his niece Jessica Connor (Jeremy); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Tristan, Hayden, Nova, Gillian and Colin.

Contributions to the facility and inspirational impact on brain injury survivors and co-workers have culminated in Derek receiving well-deserved recognition.
