He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Hyland and Evelyn White Hyland; and his sister Dolores Carden. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Farley; his sister Maryann Hyland; his parents-in-law, Monsignor John Farley, Carol Anne and Thomas Kiernan; and his nieces and nephews, Colleen, Kimberly, John, Michael and Robert. He is also survived by 14 grand nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in his honor to St. Mary of the Snow - St. Joseph's Parish.
