With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Amy Ann Wehkoja Shimkus of Saratoga Springs, New York, born in Worcester, New York, who passed away on March 23, 2022 at the age of 77. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Amy Ann Wehkoja Shimkus to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernhardt Wehkoja and Lillian Wehkoja; her husband Herb Shimkus; her siblings, Bruce Wehkoja and Debbie O'Malley; and her niece Jessica LaForce.
She is survived by: her children, Todd Shimkus (Lisa), Tracy Cheifetz (Craig) and Trisha Sperry (Rich Englund); her sisters, Betty Carlson and Joan LaForce; and her grandchildren, Katie Shimkus, Ben Shimkus, Jared Cheifetz, Joel Cheifetz, Jason Cheifetz, Tyler Sperry and Amanda Englund.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wesley Foundation or The Walk to End Alzheimer's for Team "Amy's Army" in Reston, VA on October 23, 2022. Additionally, Amy's children will be collecting stuffed animals to donate to residents at the Wesley Community.
