He was predeceased by: his parents, F. William Ernst and Lena Ebert Ernst. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ernst; his children, John A. Ernst (Mary), Gary Lenz (Theresa), Stacy Vrooman and Cindy Ernst; his grandchildren, Gary Lenz III, Dakota Lenz (Ciara), Kaylie Thornhill (Brian) and Brie Lawrence (Zach); his siblings, Larry Ernst, Betty Clevland and Rena Dyke; and his sister-in-law Barbara Mattrazzo. He is also survived by great grandchildren; treasured nieces and nephews; as well as many dear friends.
Over the years he donated his services and gratuity to his quaint city, leaving his mark.
