She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Torkelson and Winnie Torkelson (Hurlbut); her daughter Christine Ann Mecklenburg; and her siblings, David, Edwin Torkelson and Edith Enright.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest Schmidt; her sons, Donald Schmidt (Barbara) of Saranac Lake, Rick Schmidt (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Steven Schmidt (Mickey) of Saranac Lake; and her sister Virginia Carter of Florida. She is also survived by 9 Grand Children and 14 Great grandchildren.
