He was predeceased by: his parents, George Herman and Elizabeth Dobert Herman; and his daughter Lori Herman Hillman (Doug). He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Silsbe Coulombe Herman; his children, Arthur E. Herman (Cyndi), Bonnie Wittman (Joe Stevens), Darcy Houser (late Harry) of Averill Park, Denise Herman (Rick Glasser) of Wynantskill and Matthew Herman (late Megan Fairlie) of Weston, FL; his stepsons, Daniel (Whitney) and Sean Coulombe; his sister Marjorie Neal (Kenneth) of Buffalo; and his friend Elizabeth Turner. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
