He is survived by: his parent Dorothy Forbes Varney Sr.; his wife Diane Riordan Barber Varney of Clarks Mills; his former wife Cynthia Bruce of Pottersville; his stepchildren, Laurie Lewis (Ken) of Coloma, MI and John P. Barber Jr (Sue) of Porter Corners; his grandchildren, Madison Varney, Trevor Mosher, Haley Mosher, Caroline Barber, Sean Barber, Tristan Lewis and Megan Lewis; his siblings, Dale Varney (Debbie) of Salem and Diane Jennings (Joe) of Easton; his sister-in-law Carol Parkhurst of Wilton; and also, Heather N. Varney of Pottersville, Richard H. Varney of Pottersville and Kristen M. Mosher (Bart) of Pottersville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
