He was predeceased by: his parents, Theadore Howard and Mary E. Meacham Howard; his wives, Charolet Johns Howard and Florance Holmes; and his children, Joanne, Rebeca, John and Jerry.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Howard (Karen), Paul Howard, Donald Howard (Debra) and Susan Halburt (John); and his brother David Howard. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
