It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harry L. Ames Sr. of Salamanca, New York, who passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ames and Dorothy Speckman Shongo; and his children, Donna Turner and David Ames. He is survived by: his close friend Carol Terhune; and his children, Nellie Stevens (Daren) of Irving, TX, Amy Meyers (David) of Fulton, NY, Mark Warrick (Darlene) of Rockwell, TX, Rick Ames of Chicago, IL, Harry Ames Jr. (Leah) of Jamestown, NY, Sean Ames (Jennifer) of Jamestown, NY, Gregory Ames (Pamela) of Poolville, TX and Michael White (Linda). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home (25 River St, Salamanca, NY 14779).
