He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Cavanagh and Mary Morris; his brothers, James Cavanagh and John Cavanagh (Edna Cavanagh); and his children, Sharon Lee and Charles (Chip).

He is survived by: his sister Pat Ivan of Mineola; his grandchildren, Robert Howard (Lori) of New Jersey, Michelle Sensi (Sergio) of Mamaroneck, Maia Matthews of Larchmont, Kate Maldonado (Ozzie) of Florida and Tracey Pacelle of White Plains; and his great grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon), Alyssa, Sarah, Lily, Jake, Danny, Jamison, Jack, Angelique and Serene.
