He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Swanson and Gladys Nelson Swanson; and his son Craig "Swanny" Swanson. He is survived by: his wife Torie Swanson; his brother Layton Swanson (Shirley) of Russell; his niece Tiffany Mandeville (John); and his nephew Matthew Swanson (Tanya). He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

Because of Bruce's love for his Irish Setters, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701 or the Craig "Swanny" Swanson Memorial Scholarship Fund, PO Box 94, Frewsburg, NY 14738.
