He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard R. Smith and Joan M. Alaimo. He is survived by: his siblings, Scott R. Smith (Lynne), Jackie Tambe (Tracy), Julie Smith Hine and Kathy Smith (James Lynn); his close friends, Steve Spangler, Jeff Little and Carol Corsica; and his friend Bill. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
