She was predeceased by: her parents, Tice Cornlius and Ruth Edith Wooley Hettema; her children, Vernon Houghtaling, Jr. and Becky Crown; her close friend Dominic Joyce; and her uncle Oscar "Ott" Hettema.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dawn M. Houghtaling-Lahey (Timmy) of Smallwood, NY, Edith Knapp of Brooksville, FL, Jennifer Brock (Merlin) of Roscoe, NY and Morningstar Winand of Roscoe, NY; and her siblings, Eileen Reimer of North Branch, NY, Sharon Hettema of Hawaii, Barbara Vrsecky (John) of West Milford, NJ, Diane LaPolt (Charles), Kathy Rivera-Jones (Van) of Parksville, NY and Tice Hettema, II (Dianne) of West Milford, NJ. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
