The memory of Rose M. Mattia of Rome, New York, born in Utica, New York, who passed away on September 5, 2024 at the age of 98, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her husband Edward K. Mattia Sr.; her daughter Diane; her son-in-law Harry Kozma; her daughter Barbara Coy; her granddaughter Renee Gilmore (Nasci); her sister Carmelina; her brother-in-law Francis Ziobro Sr.; her brothers, Frank (Mary Leone), John (Ann Leone), Michael (Elsie Leone), Anthony Leone and Robert Leone; and her brother-in-law Michael Mezzanini.

She is survived by: her daughter Beverly; her son-in-law Joseph Nasci of Rome; her son Edward K.; her children-in-law, Nancy Mattia Jr. of Rome and Jerry (Beverly Coy); her sister Anna Mezzanini of Utica; and her sisters-in-law, Christina Leone of Utica and Eleanor Leone of Utica. She is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Church (200 N James St, Rome, NY 13440). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission of the Christ Child at St. Peter's Church.
