He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schmalz and Ethel Schmalz; his wife Ellie Schmalz; and his son Stephen Schmalz. He is survived by: his children, Edward (Pallie Schmalz), Brian (Cheri Schmalz), Nancy (Bill Nicholl), Paul Schmalz and Lisa (Gary Blackerby); and his daughter-in-law Lisa Schmalz. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
