He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Smalley and Helen Smalley (O'Rourke); his siblings, Betty Maher and John Smalley; and his brother-in-law Paul Gregis.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gregis; his children, Jennifer Ostrowski (Derek) of Weedsport, NY, Brian Smalley (Lyudmila) of Brooklyn, NY and Kevin Smalley (Dawn) of Manlius, NY; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Anastasia, Patrick and Kaylee; his siblings, Patricia Gregis and Arthur "Mickey" Smalley; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Gregis (Barbara) and Marian Smalley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Paul's Roman Catholic Church (1807 Bedford St, Rome, NY 13440-2105). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause close to Robert's heart.
