With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ellen Morrison of Rome, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 26, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis G. Sykes and Beatrice Vincent Sykes; her son Myles Piekarski; her former husband Sabine Piekarski; her grandson Michael Mahl; her great grandchild Michael Mahl; and her siblings, Spike (Gerald), Mike (Lewis), Kenneth Sykes, Zelma Halleck, Betty Pickett and Dorothy Burgess (Bud).
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Piekarski (Donna) of Rome, NY, Brian Piekarski (Lee) of Tobaccoville, NC, Sabine Piekarski of Liverpool, NY, John Morrison of Rome, NY, Karen Piekarski (Mark) of Rome, NY, Elaine Boyer of Bradenton, FL, Christine Handzel (Joe) of Utica, NY and Helen Korosec (Chad) of Chittenango, NY; her grandchildren, Derek, Travis, Ryan Boyer, Erik Parry, Max, Samantha Piekarski, Seth Piekarski, Sara Silipo, Cheri Piekarski, Noah Piekarski, Nicholas and Jacqueline Korosec; and her nieces, Patti, Faith and Ginny. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
