She is survived by: her daughters, Michelle Howard (Christopher) of Deansboro, NY and Melissa Carpenter; her grandchildren, Dustin Howard (Marissa Cimino), Kayla Carpenter (Jordan Dygert) and Kyrah Carpenter; her siblings-in-law, John Capponi and Sandra Maio; and her close friends, Char Exey and Toni Pugh.

“I would like to express my sincere condolences to Johanne family. I met Johanne at Transfiguration School. We had such a nice group of friends. I recall her always happy with a good humor, smiling all the time. Will never forget, when she came with the idea, to dress up with pajama's, storm the convent, and celebrate Sister Marcella Aksterowicz birthday. She was at that time the principal of the school and was battling cancer. What a happy evening. Johanne, rest in peace, my friend. Eva Zaleski”
