He was predeceased by: his parent Doris Hawes Custer; his sister Barbara Hawes Pfeffer; and his stepdaughter Deborah Donahue Marlette. He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Stephan Hawes; his children, Catherine DiBella, Sheryl Phillips (Mark), Warren Christopher Hawes (Betsy) and Dawn Relin (Michael Eadie); his stepchildren, Joseph Donahue and Karen Donahue; his stepson-in-law Jeff Marlette; his grandchildren, Joseph DiBella (Melissa), Ashley Presciutti (Nicholas), Justin DiBella (Sara), Nicholas Hawes (Devon), Jack Hawes (Cristina), Grace Bromsey (Jake), Madison Hawes (Luke Goodwin) and Olivia Hawes; his stepgrandchildren, Jessica Donahue and Carlee Marlette; his brother-in-law Donald Pfeffer (Barbara A); and his siblings, Patricia (Thomas Chisolm) and Dr. William Stephan (Joanne). He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
