It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph D. Giaconia Sr. (Rochester, New York), who passed away on March 19, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta; his daughter Marie Hodge; his parents, Mary Iuppa and Bartolo Giaconia; and his siblings, Bart (Nancy), Jack (Billie), Jim (Frances), Mary Campanelli (Victor) and Sally Risch (Alfred).
He is survived by: his children, Joseph D Giaconia Jr. (Sharon) and Teresa Williams (Ricky); his grandchildren, Jason Giaconia (Janine), Christopher Giaconia (Kiara), Joseph (Marlene), Robbert Hodge, Michelle Forte (Justin) and Michael Hodge (Shawdae); his great grandchildren, Hunter Giaconia, Aubrey Giaconia, Logan Giaconia, Kaiden Giaconia, Chase Giaconia, Addison Giaconia, Adam Giaconia, Norman Hodge, Chaztanique Brandon, Paolo Smith, Clover Smith, Justice Forte, Michael Hodge Jr. and Mekhi Hodge; his close friend Susan Labiqan; and his caregivers, Tammy Smith and Destin Gayden.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Margaret Mary Church (401 Rogers Pkwy, Rochester, NY 14617).
In lieu of flowers donations made to the Disabled American Veterans.
