He was predeceased by: his wife Delma; his granddaughter Zoe McGowans; and his sisters, Maimy Caruso, Mary Altavela and Dora Rodrigues.

He is survived by: his daughters, Ruth Nash, Laura Mohr, Linda Lenzi (Richard Sr.) and Johann McGowans (Raymond); his grandchildren, John Nash (Jennifer), Christina Greisch, Jaime-Lyn O'Brien (Kevin), Ashley Mohr, Andrea DiStefano, Jennifer Davila (Juan), Richard Jr. Lenzi (Laura), Andrew Lenzi (Kelly) and Aja McGowans; and his nieces, Ann Marie Alexander, Julie Goldstein and Gail Klee. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren.
