He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar G. Meyer and Amanda Zabel Meyer; his sisters, Norma Meyer Reckhow (Warren) and Jane A. Meyer; and his son James Alfred Meyer.

He is survived by: his wife Marcia Mock; the mother of his children Margaret Schnake Meyer; his children, David J. Meyer (Tracy), Glenn A. Meyer and Emily A. Bayer (Tim); his grandchildren, Matthew D. Meyer (Rebekah), Andrew J. Meyer, Alex Reid (Colleen), Sean Reid, Christopher Reid and Kaitlin C. Meyer (Brad Larew); his niece Ann Clarkson (Chris); his nephew Bob Reckhow; and his former wife Marge Schnake. He is also survived by her three children and spouses, three grandsons, five great granddaughters and one great grandson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St Ann's Chapel (1500 Portland Ave, Rochester, NY 14621).
