He was predeceased by: his father George Barr, Sr.; his siblings, Thomasina Thomas, George Barr, Jr. and Elridge Barr; and his son Gary Edward.
He is survived by: his mother Juanita Barr; his children, Tamika Barr, Kimberly Edward, Garland Barr, Jr. and Erik Barr, Sr.; his grandsons, Randell McDonald and Tré Pettiway; his siblings, Gloria Moore (James), Sabrina Boswell, Shirley Cantey and Donald Barr; and his niece Kimberly Davis. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
