He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin James Howe, Sr. and Carmen Howe. He is survived by: his daughters, Carrie Bonacci, Sarah Howe and Maureen "Mo" Anderson; his grandchildren, Marijane, Jillian, Leonna, Xavier, Ziona, Rae and Kian; and his sister Glenda Shoemaker. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
