He was predeceased by: his wife Rosa Scanio; his parents, Gaetano Scanio and Domenica Scanio; and his sisters, Margaret, Phylly, Mickey, Connie, Josie and Phyllis.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Scanio (Cindy), Ann Marie Chambers (Ferdnol) and Dennis Scanio (LuAnn); his grandsons, Frank Steven Bonafide (Nicole), Salvatore Bonafide (Chelsea) and Louis Diego Scanio (Nora); his sisters, Lina Bennardo of Italy and Carmela Basso; and his close friend Louis DiSarra. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc. (219 Spencerport Rd, Rochester, NY 14606). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Theodore's Church (168 Spencerport Rd, Rochester, NY 14606).
