He was predeceased by: his father Lieutenant. He is survived by: his wife Lillian; his grandchildren, Deanna Wirth, Reese Wirth and Lauren Zaweski; and his siblings, Howard Schmitt (Patty) and Wanda Schmitt. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
