He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Irene Nutting (Hugg); his sister Florence Arrant; and his granddaughter Jenna Shumaker. He is survived by: his children, Ron Nutting (Renae) and Charlene Shumaker (Jeffrey) of Tucson, Arizona; his sister Martha Coon of North East; his grandchildren, Erin, Eric, Jeff, Kate, Jeremy and Alexa; and his great grandchildren, Emma and Easton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quincy Cemetery Association or to Chautauqua.
