He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer D. and Ruth E. Collins, Jr. (Bogardus); and his brother Bruce Cater. He is survived by: his daughter Crystal Kennedy (Nicholas); his grandchildren, Logan and Tucker of Summit; his fiancé Shannon Mink; his partner's children, Melanie and Kelsey Mink of Richmondville; and his brothers, Douglas Cater (Joan) of Schoharie and James Collins (Linda Karker) of Cobleskill.

He inspired me each time we worked together with his determination to work through his illness and find any way possible to stay here for his family.
