He is survived by: his wife Lee May-Smith; his son David Smith Jr. (Theresa) of Rotterdam; his grandchildren, Alexander, Logan and Madison Smith; his sister Carol Haight of Louisiana; and his nieces and nephews, Wendy, Robby, Deidre, Richard, Michele, John and Gary.
