It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Roberta Young (Richfield Springs, New York), born in Cooperstown, New York, who passed away at the age of 87, on February 21, 2018. She was predeceased by: her parent Herbert Tyler. She is survived by: her parent Celia Getman Tyler.
In the two and a half years at Folts Home she was fondly referred to as "The Mayor of the Fourth Floor'. She was always looking in on her friends and would often gather them together for a walk down the hall. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and staff at Folts.
She is survived by a son Duane Young and his wife Amy of Richfield Springs, six daughters, Kathleen Taylor of Richfield Springs, Susan Sullenburger and husband Scott of Lakleland, FL, Nancy Cook and husband Jim of Oneida, Janet Banks of Richfield Springs, Dawn Seamon and husband Rex of Richfield Springs and Eileen Yaworski of Richfield Springs, eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside her parents and husband Leonard she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Robert Tyler. Mrs. Young's family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 2:00 until 3:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 3:00 pm in the funeral home with the Reverend Alan Miller officiating.
Interment will take place later this spring in Springfield Center Cemetery at a time to be announced. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department or the Cedarville Ambulance Corps. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the Folts Home staff for their care with a special thanks to Miriam, Drew and Brittany.
