He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Ickes and Jennie Ickes (Stine); his significant other Mel; and his siblings, Violet Meyers, Martha Hoyer, Virginia Daley, Harry, Charles and Bill Ickes.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Benedict; his sons, Thomas (Loretta) of Thornton, NH and Mark of Rhinebeck; his grandchildren, Sarah (John Walsh), Daniel, Alexa (Alex Volpi), Jordanna (Nilen Vyas) and Maxwell; his great grandchild Connor; his sisters, Betty Progar and Vera Shilcosky; his daughter-in-law Charlene Sclafani; and his pet Milo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
