We are sad to announce that on June 7, 2024, at the age of 103, Janet Rankin (Rhinebeck, New York), born in Clayton, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire her loved ones, keeping Janet's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.

She was predeceased by : her husband Kenneth S. Rankin. She is survived by : her children, Barbara Nolan of Rhinebeck, Kenneth Rankin (Nancy) of Lafayette, Nancy Rankin (Jamie Houtz) of Kennebunkport and Reed Rankin (Dana) of Williamsville, NY; and her siblings, Mary, Kenneth and Edward Rankin. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dapson Chestney Funeral Home (51 W Market St, Rhinebeck, NY 12572). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10th 2024 at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Dutchess County.
