He is survived by: his father Frederick Sweeney; his wife Noreen Di Marzio; his grandson Eli James; his daughter Katie Colbert (Joe); his grandchildren, Patrick James and Johanna of Maryland; his daughter Shannan (Bryan) of North Carolina; and his siblings, Billy, Tom, Joseph, Bobby, Kathy, John, Nora, Patricia, Mary and Michael. He is also survived by spouses and loved ones, his numerous nieces and nephews, and the rest of his large extended family.

Noreen was the foundation of his initial care and recovery since his first bout with illness in 2016.
