Henry J. Behrens Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hinrich Behrens and Metta Behrens; his brothers, Johann (Lisa) and Klaus (Marianne); his daughter Mary Elizabeth; and his grandfather Henry.

He is survived by: his stepmother Anna Behrens; his wife Margot; his son David (Darlene); his grandchildren, Christopher (Cristina), Andrew and Erin; and his great grandchild Luca. He is also survived by his friends, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Burnett & White Funeral Home (91 E Market St, Rhinebeck, NY 12572). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Third Evangelical Lutheran Church (31 Livingston St, Rhinebeck, NY 12572). A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Rhinebeck Cemetery (3 Mill Rd, Rhinebeck, NY 12572). A reception was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Third Lutheran Church of Rhinebeck, the Rhinecliff Volunteer Fire Company or to the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, which helped him and his family find peace in his final days.
