With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Harold W. Shook of Rhinebeck, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 30, 2024 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Harold W. Shook to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold J. Shook and Pearl Pink Shook; his wife Cora Marie Shook; and his daughter Donna Teeters. He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Piggott (Mark) of Staatsburg, NY and Linda Geerken (Jay) of Southwick, MA.; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Rodgers (Zachary), Jonathan Piggott (Tamara), Rebecca Simone (Chase), Christopher Geerken, Christina Cervantez (Randy), Jennifer Pennington (Chad), Maxen, Landon, Emersyn, Kaitlyn, Brylee and Meadow. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the William G. Miller and Son Funeral Home (371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603).

“Lisa and Elizabeth and family, we are saddened by the loss of our friend Walt. He and Cora Marie were dear friends and we spent hours together on the golf course or at the Palace Diner where we shared conversation and made memories. Walt had a quiet nature but when he spoke his words were always interesting and caring. He was happy on the golf course or sharing stories about his family. Sending a prayer of comfort and strength to the entire family.”
