He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Humes and Elizabeth McLain Humes; and his sister Jill Humes Johnston. He is survived by: his siblings, William Humes, Jeff Humes and Jane Humes VanDam; his wife Jennifer Montague Humes; his children, Jessica Humes Delgado, Melissa Humes Thacker and Christopher Robert Humes; and his grandchildren, Natalie Elizabeth Delgado, Matthew Hudson Thacker, James Robert Delgado and Benjamin McLain Thacker.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
