Sabina Cooney Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sabina Cooney of Red Hook, New York, who passed away on February 6, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Sabino Cuomo and Flossy Cuomo (Brizzie); her foster parents, Henry (Hank), Margaret Wyant of Milan, NY and Malcom T. Cooney; her great grandchild Atticus; her husband Malcolm of Red Hook; her daughters, Margaret Michele Cuomo-Gerace (Phillip) and Melanie Delage (Kenneth); her stepchildren, Sheri Cooney (Rob) and Thomas Cooney (Beverly); her grandchildren, Michele Elizabeth, Michael Dam, Camden, Jack Gerace-Hague, Harlie, Lillie Hague, Brian, Kyle Delage, Ryan Traudt, Shawn, Matthew Cooney, Rachelle Dettner, Adam Russell, Marc Mastro and Kaleb Evans Cooney; her siblings, Mary Juhase, Guy Wyant, Ruth Yannacone, Harry Wyant (Bob) and Sabino Cuomo; and her son-in-law Steven Dam. She was also cherished by 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; in addition to extended family and friends.

Memorial donations may be made in Sabina's memory to the Hudson Valley Hospice, the American Heart Association, the Veterans Association, or the National Down Syndrome Federation.
