She was predeceased by: her mother Carol Jeanne Shepherd; and her siblings, Missy Blackburn and Gary Blackburn. She is survived by: her father Howard T. Rhoades; her sons, Brandon Gately and Trent Gately; and her siblings, Jesse Blackburn of Baytown Texas, Brad Blackburn of Fowler, Laurie Dawes of Red Creek and Pamela Tishberg of Potsdam. She is also survived by 5 step siblings, a granddaughter, another granddaughter on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
