He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Nicholls and Florence Gierzban Nicholls; his siblings, Gary Nicholls, Richard "Tom" Nicholls and Penny Kimball; and his parents-in-law, Joanne and Richard Krawecki.

He is survived by: his wife Kelly Nicholls; his daughter Elizabeth Vandermallie (Eric) of Rochester; and his grandchildren, Chase, Eliana and Emilia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
