He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert McMullen and Pearl McMullen (Frontz); his great grandchild Jacob David McMullen; and his siblings, Alda Plewa (late Andrew), Zelda Carrig (late William), John McMullen (Louise), Ruby Conway (Howard), Louise Ball (Melvin) and Francis McMullen (late Patricia).
He is survived by: his wife Mary McMullen (Clossin); and his children, Robert McMullen, Jr. (Susan), Deborah Hurlburt (James), David McMullen (Gloria), Kim Jones (James) and Mary Ann Jones (Steven). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
