He is survived by: his brother Charles Hartwig (Carol); and his siblings-in-law, David George (late Caroline), Dolly Hartwig (late Robert) and Ardelle Hartwig (late Donald). He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
