He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert R. Butler and Mary M. Butler (Geiskopf); and his brother James Bartlett. He is survived by: his wife Celina Butler; his daughters, Diane Beaudette (James Flansburg) and Deborah Beaudette (James); his grandchildren, Celina Soprano (Steven), Jeremy Beaudette (Jennifer), Nicole Goodwin (Kevin) and Michael Earp; his great grandchildren, Charlie, Lucy, Winnie and Sydney; and his sisters, Francis Soverns and Patricia Manderson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
