It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lydia Bitterly (Queensbury, New York), born in New York, New York, who passed away on January 1, 2020, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Genningsen and Tatiana Kolen Genningsen. She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Funderburke (Chris), JoAnne Deyoe (Mike) and Kathryn Martone (John); her sister Barbara Vacalopoulos; her grandchildren, Brayton Deyoe and Caroline Deyoe; her nephews, John and Nick Vacalopoulos; and her cousins, Jamie Macaluso, Carol Dalton, Olga Selvaggi, Nina Selvaggi and Jennifer Lamb.

“My sympathy to all of Lydia's family. She was a faithful friend to me and my family for several years since we met her when she attended Granville Assembly of God. We had been keeping up with phone calls and occasional lunches and she always spoke so proudly of her daughter's and especially her grandchildren. I'm sure you know you were well-loved! I will miss our lunches and think of Lydia often. I pray for peace and comfort at this difficult time. Sincerely, Karen Gallagher”

“My deepest sympathy to lydia's daughters , grandchildren, sister and family. It has been a pleasure to have lydia as my neighbor. Her happiest days where when her family came to visit and she especially enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and was extremely proud of them. We will miss her at halloween in her witch costume.
