He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Elizabeth (Youmans) and Benjamin Wayne Karl; and his brother Stephen John Karl. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Karl of New Haven, CT; his stepchildren, Greg Rifenburg of Glens Falls, Steven Rifenburg of Schenectady and Brooke Turallo of Albany; his grandchildren, Saige Turallo, Dakota Rifenburg, JJ Turallo, Ty Rifenburg, Sydney Rifenburg and Rylan Rifenburg; his uncle Jerry Karl; his aunts, Linda and Joyce Karl; his nephew Trevor J. Karl Sr.; and his niece Kehmally M. Karl.
